20th Annual Fruit Tree Program Kicks Off in Phoenix
The Urban Farm is excited to announce their 20th annual Urban Farm Fruit Tree Education Program. Farmer Greg Peterson has been growing fruit trees for over 40 years in the Valley of the Sun and offers education on the best techniques for successfully growing fruit trees in the desert. Coupled with this program is an opportunity to purchase “Urban Farm Approved” fruit trees, bushes and vines that are proven to thrive in the Phoenix area. The program launches with a half-day free event that will take place at Uptown Farmer’s Market on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is an indoor event where attendees can listen to speakers and place preorders for the fruit tree season. To celebrate 20 years of the Fruit Tree Program’s success, The Urban Farm will offer exclusive deals and over $2000 in giveaways during the kick-off for attendees only. Event attendees will learn the keys for fruit tree success and the three tips to know before purchasing a fruit tree. Featured speaker Tom Spellman from Dave Wilson Nursery Trees will join Peterson for informational sessions that cover all you need to know about growing fruit trees in the desert.
